A Responsive prayer of confession
When we find ourselves undone by arrogance or fear,
when the path that you have shown
becomes too hard for us to take,
when argument and dispute shake friendship to its roots
and shatter the community you call us into:
Jesus, show us yet again your better wway.
Recall for us the power of humility and grace,
lead us on into your paths of peace.
When we find our world driven into shame,
when the life and hope you offer
becomes a fantasy to be forgotten,
when selfishness and greed take centre stage and win,
destroying so much that binds humanity and earth:
Jesus, show us yet again your better wway.
Recall for us the power of humility and grace,
lead us on into your paths of peace.
When we find faith faltering and frail,
when all the love and hope and joy in us become stifled and undone,
when our longing for your realm has brought confusion and we feel tempted to give up:
Jesus, show us yet again your better wway.
Recall for us the power of humility and grace,
lead us on into your paths of peace.
